Someone stopped me, No more pushing myself to a once tempting ledge. I dont fear that ledge, Nor does it upset me, It is still a part of me, And it once was home. But I no longer chase the ledge, Rather than falling, I fly. I saw through the dank,dark thoughts in my mind. I still strip life to it melancholy bones, But rather than it despairing me, I embrace them, As you embraced me. All my knowledge regarding the bitterness of this world no longer cages me, But allows me to shelter you from the harm I've suffered. This is how I'll return the favour, How I can protect you as you have me, You have pulled me from the pool that once drowned me and shown me the beauty that surrounds us.
