you lull me with your gentle tone, it calms me when i’m all alone. you fill the spaces deep inside, the ones i thought i had to hide. you never forced yourself to stay, you didn’t try to change my way. you didn’t cut or fold to fit— you showed up whole, and that was it. it’s like our hearts had always known, two puzzle pieces on their own. and when they met, they simply stayed, no questions asked, no plans were made. you woke the part of me that slept, the one i lost, the one i kept. you held my heart with your hands so warm, your kisses kept it safe from harm. you never held me way too tight, afraid to break what lost its light. but still, you healed me, bit by bit, and saw the light in all of it. your voice can hush a world of noise, just like a song that never cloys. your face can turn the gray to blue, and suddenly, i breathe with you. you’re always there, so soft, so true— a home i run into. a home that’s you.
