Life is a Chessboard. I never thought I’d be in one— not until I realized I was already part of the game. I thought I was playing, but no— I was only a pawn. A piece meant to be sacrificed, so another could advance. So someone else could rise. It kept replaying in my head: the camaraderie we had, before the move that changed everything— the move I let control me. And if I look at it clearly: a true one doesn’t treat others like pieces to use. A true friend wouldn’t test someone just to secure their own advantage. So now it’s clear. It was never truly friendship. And after what happened, I’ll never see you as one again. For that is my last move in this game. On to the next one, with the lesson etched in me— the lesson of my checkmate.
