We discarded the entire world and drew upon the abstract ideas that made our presence a disease. Romantic visions of evergreen pastures where heaven and hell agree. Maverick musketeers leaving their posts, walking away from prejudiced queens so ungodly beautiful they claim to be invisible. Dripping drool on those they rule— glass castles for the fools. What has been and is still to come has no room to roam and will likely explode when experts of the ages preach it in sermons to packed halls of those reinventing monopoly. Fearing we became our own enemy, we dissolved to dust and blew away with the wind, honestly. It was then we confronted oblivion with all the hate we screamed until our bodies reignited and we stood, dust to celestial, on the peak of Noah’s great mountain. We warned the valleys below to take heed of their souls or start digging holes to lie in scorn for every cracked whip and chain given to the forsaken and forlorn. You cannot forget the piper if you want the rats to stay away. In the face of that, you lost the ace in your sleeve. Now we breathe until a new dawn breaks the torture in the night created by tricky dicky crooks who foster the orphans with hooks. This joke is not our fate. Even the crazed guard dogs whimper at the lone wolf when the hour gets late. Relief from hostile forces is not behind a gate— it’s diving into the sea, swimming into your dream, ripping the whole fucking universe from its seams. Breathe and believe in what you receive, even when God cannot agree.
