I feel empty deep inside, Like waves that pull but never tide. The world moves on, they’ve all gone far, And I’m left tracing fading stars. My mother’s shadow greets the door, But never stays—not like before. Her scent still lingers in the air, But not her warmth, her voice, her care. My limbs are tired, my soul worn thin, No place to end, no place to begin. Rest is a luxury I cannot keep, So I cry myself into haunted sleep. Midnight listens to my pain, It knows each tear, it knows my name. Yet no one sees, no one can know, How deep the cracks inside me go. But still I breathe, I’m still alive, Hoping one day I might survive. That love returns, that peace will grow— Where silence lives, a light might glow.
