I want to share a line from a series I watched. It’s from IWTV. One character says, “Aren’t there gradations of evil? Is evil a great, perilous gulf into which one falls with the first sin, plummeting to its depths?” I love how it suggests that sin is like a black hole — once a living being enters it, they can’t possibly go back. It consumes them into a deep vortex they can’t escape from, like being pulled by a current: the current of sins. Sin is not a one-time act that can simply be done and undone. It’s something you do once, and as time goes on, you find yourself committing more, each growing heavier than the last.
