On Your Lap Oh Gram, let me sit here In your place filled with love, And tell me a story About that painting above Oh, please make me laugh As you make up the words You make it magically real (And a little absurd ) Let me climb up again There” a song left to hear You’ve got lots of them , Grandma Sing them softly in my ear Oh, please let me sit, And just tell me a tale One from when YOU were little You san say,; I won’t tell Let me come again Grandma I need you to console me Even though I’m much older, Only you really know me Oh Gram, I’ll just kneel, And put my head on your chest I don’t need any words now But your lap is the best! All these years and these changes Since we rocked to and fro Yet I still love you, Grandma, I don’t want to let go Gram, just one more time I'll come right to your bed And I’ll tell the story You just rest your weary head By Sandy Sinn
