I couldn’t stay still — my hands keep fidgeting, awkwardness spilling. It’s hard to walk when the floor keeps rumbling; hard to act normal when my heart won’t stop trembling. I may look like calm waters, but inside— it's storm waters. And it’s so tiring to pretend the surface is still when you're near. I want to tell you. But words could crack the ground, shatter the world, darken the sky. The air would grow heavy, the weather would turn against me. I want to let you know so badly— but I’d rather feel this quiet pain inside than face the ruin of being around you, pretending I’m fine.
