The girl sat with her friends, But she felt alone. Their hollow laughs, and talks about selfies. Who broke up with who. Who slept with who. Who got what score on what math test. Whoever spoke the loudest was listened to. She thought to herself. "Diversity is better than inclusivity, Because at the end of the day, Everyone just wants to be different." She knew those two weren't polar opposites, but they were treated that way. Everyone wanted to label themselves to be something, rather than what they were. It wasn't being different that made people special. It was the people who they had in their lives, yet they didn't realize. At the end of the day, they were all human. That was the beauty of it. The overlooked simplicity. "Yet conformity is better than expression, Because everyone wants to fit in." Both were, somewhat true. But she knew it was a paradox. What did people really want? . . . . She stood up, grabbed her lunch, and quietly left the table. And the boys and girls still laughed. Still gossiped. Still carried on. And she still sat with them the next day.
