New day arrived, and so it was; Sunlight painted streets, birds lifted their song. The city roared, and I drifted all along. Sidewalks buzzed with chatter and hurried pace, Faces blur on the subway, each lost in their own space. Suddenly, I was undone in an instant — it's true. There was no warning, no whisper, no cue. The sweetness in your smile when you replied, “Hi, nice to meet you.” From your hand, a river of warmth did flow, And in its current I melted, as time moved slow. I was carried to bliss by the light — the light from your eyes as they caught my stare. What shattered me was this freedom, so rare; you laid your whole soul bare, A fire burning bright, still strong in the night — It was love at first sight.
