The harash truth is people aren't like me I crave a kind of intimacy most can't name A connection that feels alive Not transactional, not temporary I give and give, hoping one day it'll be returned But all I ever get is the bare minimum It twists the mind into madness; Being everyone's comfort, yet no one's choice. Addiction lingers like a shadow A friend I can't not confide in When I try to open up, I'm met with silence, Or worse.... Rejection wrapped in pity. People don't understand the kind of loneliness Where the only sound is the hum of your phone Where messages stop coming And the world around forgets you exist So you chase a high that feels like warmth Because for a moment, it quiets the emptiness But when it fades, your left With nothing but yourself The endless climb to stand again Always slipping always falling.
