The Story of a Spider                      Or        A Greek Myth Retold Oh! Spinner, were you not the Lydian maid Who, in arrogance, a wager laid To surpass Athene in  a contest spinning, But ended up sore without winning. What a fine web you've woven, Spinning a thread of strength proven! You excel in your endless toil, But you're not Athene's perfect foil.
