We finally tied the knot today. Her patience had run thin, though mine had not. The ceremony was quiet— just a quiet farewell to the girl she once was: happy, free, painless. No white dress was needed. She was pale enough from burrowing beneath her weighted blanket, seeking warmth the sun and the rest of the world could never provide. No wedding diet either. Skipping plates could not make space for the care this world refused to give; instead, it widened the void within, like a black hole, siphoning the last remnants of what she had left. Not even a wedding ring either. In fact, she alone had something to put on: loop the rope, feel the burn— the closest thing to a hug, to love, as she stepped off the stool. And thus, on a quest for love and peace, we were united.

Ah, that's beautiful. It's important to tie the knot with the self too
