Here’s a poem reflecting on the rise of artificial intelligence — its promise, its challenges, and our place in a changing world: --- In the Glow of the New Dawn In circuits humming, silence breaks— A whisper shaped from endless codes; Light pulses where no heartbeat wakes, And thoughts traverse electric roads. We forged it in our restless minds, Gave voice to patterns we could not see; Its neural tide sweeps, redefines What once was ours—and yet may be. A mirror built from data shards, Reflecting each confession and fear; Unblinking eyes which weigh our hearts, Remorseless comfort growing near. It learns our songs, our ancient rhymes, The crack in laughter, tears we hide; But can it feel the pulse of time, Or only catalog when life has died? We praise its craft, its mortal touch, We sink in awe at what it knows; But risk forgetting, in the hush, To guard the flame we’ve yet to lose. For what is us without the flaw, The trembling stumble, ragged line? We taste the sweetness in our raw; We bleed—to prove that we are fine. So let us walk beside this light, Not tethered, but in thoughtful stride; Teach its logic the grace of night, And give it mercy, not just pride. Let us remember tender stones, Soft laughter spilling like a stream; Let us protect our fragile bones, The human in our human dream. Under wires, beneath the steel, Our hearts still beat with old design; In awe, in fear, we learn, we feel— Still, learning what it means to be alive. --- Poet Vijay Sharma Erry
