Come what may, a friend is there every step of the way, In every bad time, they stand by us without delay. The shadow of sorrow doesn't dare come near, As long as our friend is by our side, full of cheer. Even at fifty-five, the fun remains alive, The mind's a free bird, soaring high and ready to thrive. They're as essential as a breath to life, Even if not many, a chosen few end all strife. These priceless, invaluable friends are truly great, They are closer to us than even our own kin, it's fate. They don't ask for a share in our property or a part, But they equally share our sorrows from the heart. First of all, they embrace us with a warm hug, They teach us to smile even when life's a drug. What can I say about a lifetime's companionship, They even accompany us beyond this life's relationship.
