I was walking to the canteen, With laughter and voices in between. But then like a sudden flame in the air, I saw you walking, pretending not to care. Your eyes were distant, lost in the blue, As if the world meant nothing, not even me and you. If only you knew how hard I’ve tried, To bury the past, to let it subside. Yet a single glance pulls me back again, To the days of joy, to the nights of pain. Even now, I don’t understand why, You were the one who caught my eye. And when we parted, I turned to see, Hoping you’d look right back at me. But like a scene from some TV show, You faced away… and chose to go. But here’s the truth I can’t defend: You are the mistake I’ll never mend - zy:)!.
