A question can have a million answers. Different words. Different voices. Different ways of being understood. Once, I was asked- Why are you overreacting? It made me stop. It made me think. Am I really? Then something similar happened. I did exactly what I’d been questioned about before. And I felt bad. Felt trapped. Again, I thought, Why did I withdraw? Why did I step back? When questioned, I fought- but before that, I used to just… leave. The more I think, the more I feel maybe withdrawing was wrong. Wrong for others, maybe. But for me? It was the only way to keep my peace after trying until I had nothing left to give. Because when you’ve tried and tried, and nothing changes, sometimes the kindest thing you can do for yourself is walk away even if it means being hated by yourself for trying in the first place.
