I’m just a coffee cup— simple, breakable, but every single morning, you reach for me, unshakable. You know I could slip, crack in the sink, shatter on the floor on some tired evening, I think. But still— you pour into me without blinking, trusting my warmth though your heart’s still sinking. What’s your alternative? Never sip warmth again? Never wrap your hands around me, holding comfort mixed with pain? A little light, a little burn— a lesson hard but one you learn? See— like love, coffee can scald if you’re not careful, leave marks deep and tearful. But cold hearts? They ache worse than blisters, frozen ghosts—lonely sisters. Some drink too fast, some let me go lukewarm, trying to guard their souls from the coming storm. But protection isn’t living— it’s just waiting, waiting in silence, alone, hesitating. And waiting? That’s just loneliness in prettier clothes, a hollow disguise that nobody knows. So yes, you’ll spill me. I’ll stain your hands. You’ll break a few mugs, maybe even your favorite again. But don’t let that stop you from pouring once more, from opening wide that fragile door. Because every cracked rim, every chipped handle, tells the story: you dared to feel, you dared to be real. You dared to sit with me with trembling hands, and say, "Here, I saved you the last sip, the final chance, the final grip." So pick me up. Even if your fingers shake. Even if I’m not full. Even if the next pour might be your last call. Because love? It’s bitter and sweet, hot and healing, messy and worth it— a tangled feat. And those who drink me down, knowing all that, they’re the ones who really lived, never once looking back.
