I was too young to carry such pain, A child drowning in endless rain. Grief wrapped around me, heavy and tight, Lonely, scared, and searching for light. I wanted love, just a little light, Anything to help me through the night. He was there, and I reached for his hand, Even though I knew he wouldn’t understand. He wanted things I couldn’t give, But I let him stay just to feel I could live. His words always turned to what he desired, But I stayed, though I felt so tired. Thirteen—I was still just a kid. Eighteen—he knew what he did. I gave him pieces, but not my soul, Afraid to let go, yet losing control. For a moment, it felt like care, Even knowing no real love was there. I tried to believe it could fill the hole, But the truth screamed louder inside my soul. I let him go, but not without scars, Not without nights spent under dark stars. Still, I rise from what broke me apart, With a clearer mind and a stronger heart. I won’t forget the ache or the cost, The innocence taken, the pieces I lost. But I’ve learned love is not a fight to survive— I am enough, and I am alive.
