--- "Blue Lights Like Home" for the ones who arrive when no one else does When the world is loud and I can't hear myself think, when my breath forgets how to stay steady, I press play— and there they are. Blue lights, steady voices, hands that don’t flinch at the sight of fear. Strangers in uniforms, but they feel like family— because they show up. Because they ask, "Are you in pain?" like it matters. They kneel in the dark, where the worst things happen, and somehow make it feel less final, less frightening, less like the end. Every beep, every call-out, is someone being seen, not ignored. Held, not left behind. Listened to— even in chaos. Maybe that’s why I watch. Because deep down, I want to believe that someone, somewhere, would run through red lights just to save me, too. Not for drama. Not for show. Just because I matter. Just because I’m breathing. And maybe that’s enough. ---
