Raising your voice against a rapist is considered a crime, but expecting justice from the judiciary system feels like a greater crime! My heart is disheartened every time I see or hear about sexual assault or eve teasing. So many questions arise in my mind against the system meant to protect us. These days, culprits are honoured with garlands, while society raises endless questions against the victim but never criticizes the culprit for ruining a girl's dreams. Why is a girl always expected to prove her purity through Agnipariksha, just like Sita did? In our society, the victim is taunted, ignored, and embarrassed at every step for being vocal. The sad reality is that she is labelled. Those harsh labels and comments by society make her life harder day by day... Even the smallest ray of hope starts to fade into darkness. Culprits enjoy freedom after stealing her dignity and modesty, and society claims the right to question her character but the judiciary still cannot give her justice.
