The sky grows darker, as the wind builds its intensity; a soft sound transforms into a thunderous roar. It starts off slow, then accelerates, becoming an inevitable natural force, emerging from the ocean's depths. It surges in waves, a hidden beast, exhaling cold air, its essence boiling with fury. The storm gains momentum, consuming the light around it, while trees lean down, resisting the unavoidable. The earth shakes, quaking with each advance of the storm. Structures moan, their bases splitting under the pressure of the wind. Shutters clatter, and windows screech in a struggle to withstand the onslaught. The hurricane communicates in a tongue we cannot understand, its voice timeless, a duet between the sky and the ground, a sorrowful song that fills the atmosphere with grief, a shout from something unfathomable. It ravages everything in its path. People flee, but they are too slow, as the wind is an unyielding predator, and the sky shows no compassion. Rain falls like arrows, piercing the skin, clinging to each surface, drenching the streets, creating a flood that descends from the sky. In this turmoil, time distorts; every second feels prolonged, each minute a fight for existence. Yet, once it passes, the quiet remains a harsh reminder. The storm is gone, but its impact endures. The trees lie shattered, the earth bears scars, and the sky calms, yet within those who experienced it, the hurricane lingers forever, its winds still murmuring, resonating in their very essence. ©️ 2025 James Michael
