The words were loud, sharp-edged, and cruel, Each syllable a spark to fuel The fire we never meant to light, But now it flickers in the night. Now silence wraps the room in grey, Not peace—just all we didn’t say. Your eyes avoid, my hands stay still, The air between us thick with will. It’s not the quiet lovers keep When hearts are full and words asleep, But one that trembles, raw and cold— A silence heavy, harsh, and bold. No sorry spoken, no retreat, Just echoes of where we compete. Yet in this hush, a fragile thread— A hope not shattered, only bled. Perhaps tomorrow will repair The damage born from lack of care. But for tonight, this silence stays, A truce disguised in parted ways.
