Babies understand language before they can speak it, hearing how it flows, what action it's associated with, what they get from it. They know when they are in trouble or getting a treat, it's distinguishable, it's taught. When you grew up hearing words, seeing them on signs, school work and TV, it's normal. That's language. Language is seen as soul, but it's hard to speak from the soul when the words I want to use are alien, gone. I remember in school, we were taught place names, food groups and how to insult. Not how the language is meant to flow, give and take. How you are meant to feel what you say and not just hear. I hear the desired tongue in music, greetings and sorrow. I understand it because of the tone and expression put behind the meaning but I don't understand words. I don't understand the language, my soul, mo chroí.
