They say a girl’s first best friend’s her cousin, The one who’s there through thick and thin. And that was us two hearts, one team, Sharing secrets, hopes, and dreams. You’d roll your eyes, say I annoyed, But laughed with me through every noise. We built a world no one could see, A place that felt like family. But time moved on, and so did we, Lost in grown-up rivalry. Not ours no, we didn’t fight But pulled apart by others' spite. Now we just scroll and tap and stare, At tiny screens that show you’re there. I see your smile, your life, your days, But not in real or honest ways. You never text, you rarely call, And yet I wait, I’d take it all. For cousins are forever friends, And I’ll be here until the end.
