Post

I stay up late, my phone in hand, Just one more text that's all I planned. But silence grows as hours pass, Like shadows stretching on the glass. You're eighteen now, yet still you're caught In rules and walls that, I am not. They want their world I'm in the way. They say “move on,” they close the door, Pretend we weren’t close before. But blood and love don’t fade so fast You’re still my cousin, present, past. So here I wait, though you can’t see, A quiet light hoping for me.
