I have never been more jealous of immortals than the night of 24th Feb I envy your clothes, those sheets on your bed, In the new pages, your finger assisted with saliva swirling the pages ahead , The air you exhale and inhale, The eyes that fell upon you exhausting an artifact, The palm that may have grazed you, The tears that will fall onto your cheeks then travel all the way to your lips till they fall off the cliff- Your chin resides on shore to my needs. Jealousy isn't confined but engulfs mortals too. I envy your mother, who will feed you Suffice your needs Your brother an accomplice - Who will annoy you to leave Yet you wont I envy your little sis, who will get your forehead kisses I envy you, who will see my love day to night till eyes suffice I envy you, your world , your people - Everything from dust to rain, from pendant to grain, from smiles to high-held cries, from foot massages to sleepless nights That lost finger ring butterfly I hate you, but i envy the world with the utmost passion and disbelief That which gets you When i did all you wanted Just to be part of your mornings How could they deserve the garden i planted And aged to grow - I envy you in denial, not moon worthy sure Yet I love you With apologies to my own cause
