Life is a poet She pens on a Canvas - a mirror of herself She pens with a quill laced with Odyssey With the Ink of time, she navigates On a journey, she leads us on Each experience stirring a thrill for adventure Each path she shows holds a discovery You'd be surprised what's obscured in this mystery A path brings a smile to the face Excitement to the heart A sense of satisfaction A spark that lights up the universe Another pricks at the soul Seal the lips but makes the heart speak Forces a tear with sobbing songs Yet true solace is found in its embrace Another conjures a flame in the core Denies reason and shuns counsel Calls on the strength of a thousand war-horses A followed action and each will light up their torches Another exudes sweet nectar An enchantment binding the mind, body and soul A double-edged sword- one, we wish and long for The other we rebuke, yet it comforts us still Another path quenches the light of the spirit It spins the mind in an endless loop It casts a haze upon the future It makes the body trembles, advancing not Another dwells in the dark but sees all It claws at the wall and calls out in whispers It makes the blood still and haunts the psyche Its terror doesn't kill but possesses a powerful sting Another casts an illusion on the mind Makes the heart want for better days To some a light at the end of a tunnel To some a means to an end All path intertwines yet distinct, each to another All conceived and birthed from same mother At the end of time, she'll drop her pen And at the beginning of something new, she might write again
