The truth hurts, pricking the deepest bottom of the heart, The ear doesn't want to hear, The eye, can't withstand seeing, The tongue doesn't want to taste, The nose doesn't want to smell, The hand even fears to touch it. For how long will we be cowards? For how will we long for lies to be truth? When will our senses embrace it? Fearing to accept it has done much harm, Hindering us from reaching the heights we could have, To know what the future holds before us. Yes, being timid about it, has made us disbelieve ourselves, We question our potential now and then, Wondering if our existence was a mistake, Stagnant in fantasy all day long, Dreaming the truth would change to lie. Truth doesn't change, it's inevitable, Admitting it the earlier, the better, All is not lost, life gives us many second chances, Be brave, move forward and grab one this time, Accept it now, for time makes everything right, Accept it today, for the better of tomorrow. -Ellen Obuya
