I may not know the message, But I know the messenger. I know the wealth of stories their face paint. I know when they're being real and when it's all a feint. I know the dam of calm they try to hold before the emotions flood. I know their desires and secret wants. I know what mends and breaks their soul. I know what makes them feel pure and righteous and what makes them feel dirty and black as coal. And thus I understand the message.
