Wasn’t it just tomorrow when I made my New Year Resolution? Pen in hand, heart full of hope, Mapping dreams on fresh, crisp pages, Promising myself that this year would be different. Wasn’t it just tomorrow when the clock struck midnight? Fireworks painted the sky with possibility, Cheers echoing like distant echoes of “new beginnings,” And I believed—truly believed—that time was mine to hold. Wasn’t it just tomorrow when the calendar felt endless? A wide-open road stretched with possibility, Days untouched, unwrinkled by routine, Moments waiting to be molded into meaning. And now— Here I stand, blinking, As January slips quietly out the back door, Leaving behind half-finished lists And echoes of promises whispered in the dark. How did the days sprint when I was only walking? How did the hours fade when I thought I was watching? Wasn’t it just tomorrow when I said, “I’ll start today”— But today became yesterday Before I even noticed. So here’s what I’ll do: I’ll gather the pieces, The almosts, the maybes, the not-quite-yets, And I’ll start again— Not waiting for tomorrow, Not blaming yesterday, But standing in the fragile, fleeting now. -@diaryofmotivation_
