I stood at the edge of laughter, holding a heart full of hope, believing there would be one place where my name would be spoken with warmth. Instead, I became the quiet face people looked through, the hand never reached for, the story left unread. I learned what it feels like to smile while standing outside, to hear belonging through closed doors, and wonder why mine never seemed to open. There is a particular ache in being gently pushed aside— not with cruel words, but with forgotten invitations, empty spaces, and silence that says, "You do not quite fit here." So I carried my loneliness like an invisible coat, heavy in every season, pretending it weighed nothing at all. Yet even in the deepest solitude, my heart refused to stop believing. Because perhaps I was never meant to force my way into rooms that could not see my worth. Perhaps there is a place where kindness waits, where my voice will not be interrupted, where my presence will be welcomed instead of merely tolerated. Until then, I will not let rejection teach me to reject myself. I will keep becoming the person I once hoped to find. And if another lonely soul stands outside the circle, I will make room beside me. For no heart should spend its whole life wanting to belong while being quietly shunned away.
