Hop along On this snowy day Watch as you walk And leave a trail Your footsteps Have left footprints I'm much smaller So I can follow yours Jump Into each one As you continue walking Smile on my face Looking up To see the back of your head My vision Can only take in The blurry glow around you I begin To revolve around you My entire being Rotates around you Just as the earth to the sun Yet you dont even notice Me behind you You dont acknowledge The laughter Echoing in this frosted forest And as we continue To walk Your footsteps Continue to leave imprints You speed up And you turn And others walk past Shuffling around A mess To many people Leaving their own Imprints in this snow And I cant keep up My train of thought gets stuck I cant remember Which steps are yours And when I look up You're gone Not a thought to look back To find me As my knees collapse Your glow is gone And your ears still be covered Your own mind at work As these imprints Have covered My once precious White snow
