Thunder sifts electricity: Fractals arcing ever-downward, Seeking the marrow of the Earth, Crying out to be united In the raging din of the storm. Brushing fingers at a table Scorch off my treeskin, now aflame, And the heaving chest of your clouds Outsweats our smoldering embers As your breath mends with mine. Rainfall cadence. Even as my roots outstretch arms, Retreating through wettened soil, I gorge on the land without care For how far above me you are. Still, I grow through fresh scars. Alone. I cannot withstand another, And yet I pursue your tempest With all the devotion of nature. I wonder, Will you rustle my hair again? Sparkful lips hew the life from me.
