The doors are locked, the shutters drawn, No more words to greet the dawn. I’ve reached the end of all I’ll say, The colors here have turned to gray. There is no point in reaching out, In whispers low or through a shout. To open up just brings the rain, And leaves me with this familiar pain. So I’ll bundle it up and pull it tight, Deep in the shadows, out of the light. The stories I carried, the truth I found, Will fall to the earth without a sound. From this moment on, the air will be still, Against my heart and against my will. You can look for me where the echoes used to be, But complete silence is all you'll find of me.
