A heavy cloak, a sky of grey, No sunbeam fights its way today. The world feels muffled, distant, cold, A story tragically untold. Each breath a labor, hard-won fight, Against a pull towards endless night. A whispered promise, dark and deep, To finally close and fall asleep. The mirror shows a hollow face, Lost in this desolate, empty space. A stranger stares, with vacant eyes, Reflecting back a thousand lies. A silent scream trapped in the chest, A longing for eternal rest. To cease to feel, to cease to be, And drift upon a silent sea. But somewhere deep, a flicker small, A memory of standing tall. A love, a laugh, a whispered name, A tiny spark igniting flame. It flickers, fades, then tries again, A fragile hope amidst the pain. A choice to make, a road to tread, To fight the darkness in my head.
