As a poet, yes. There's no harm in telling someone how you feel through a poem. Don't panic. Maybe it was hard for him to understand the poem, maybe he's still trying to process his feelings. Pls don't expect a reply. You sent and that will do. If it's really over between the two of you, try closing the door of that relationship firmly but graciously behind. Hope that helped.
